PROCESS:

1.  Contact me with the basic information about your writing (length, type, timeline, etc.)

2.  Email me 1 or 2 pages of the document in MS Word or Google Docs format.

3.  I will edit the 1 or 2 pages and provide you with an estimate based on the pricing listed below.

If you are providing a hard copy, I can still give you an estimate.

4.  You decide whether or not to proceed.

5.  If you decide to proceed, I will complete the edits and return the document with edits and comments.

Half the payment is due before proofing the document begins.  The balance is due upon completion.

PRICING: (Sales Tax is included in the price)

Pricing is charged by the page.  The industry standard for a page is 250 words.  Therefore, you do not have to worry about font and type size.

Turnaround time of shorter documents is typically five to ten business days (not counting weekends) from the date you accept the estimate or I received the document, whichever is later.  Book manuscripts are typically ten to fifteen business days, depending on the length.  I can accept some rush jobs (turnaround time is less than five days), but there will be an extra charge for this service.

All documents are read at least twice in their entirety.

Final-Read Proofreading Service:  $3.00/page

Final-Read proofreading is for documents that are polished and finished, but need a final reading to double-check  for minor typos or mistakes.

Basic Proofreading (Copyediting) Service:  $4.50/page

Basic proofreading includes proofing for spelling mistakes, typos, punctuation problems, capitalization errors, and awkward grammar. 

Comprehensive Proofreading (Developmental editing) Service:  $6.50/page

Comprehensive proofreading includes the basic package as well as the overall structure of the document.  The package includes answering such questions as Is the writing clear?  Is the word choice appropriate?  Are there redundancies or inconsistencies in the narration?  Are characters and situations believable?

With over 20 years of experience proofreading and editing a variety of writing, including technical writings, college papers, essays, novels, poetry, and press releases, I can assist with you with perfecting your writing. I have edited press releases, novels, and magazines articles for publication.
